The Jersey Explorer Children’s Museum is dedicated to providing children with experiences at the intersection of the arts, sciences and the humanities. These experiences include exhibitions, classes, workshops, performances, and festivals. We’re often looking to expand our team and bring unique, innovative professionals to the Museum. Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers to join our fun exploration squad!

Museum Floor Staff - We are interested in outgoing people with experience working with children to assist our visitors as they explore our hands on exhibits. We ask that floor staff volunteers are available for a minimum of one shift per week.

What we look for- Presenters and guides in exhibits in History, Science and International Cultures

•Storytelling and Puppet presenters

•Reception

•Exhibit Design and Fabrication

•Presentation Development including print, graphic, theater, film and software projects

•Assisting with Building Improvements

Special Events - It is our pleasure to host special events and provide outreach programs in our community throughout the year. We are eager to build a list of interested volunteers so that we may contact you when a specific event is coming up. 

Fundraising/Marketing/Programming - If you have background in these areas and time to give, we are open to your input and assistance.

Qualifications -
16 + or older
Ability to work with a diverse group of staff and visitors
Excellent communication skills.

Time Commitment -

We can use volunteers on selected weekdays to help us with school groups.

On Saturdays we need volunteers to help us with families.

We can be very flexible and will work with you to arrange a schedule that fits your life.


Internships

Students - High School/College internships, research projects, and community service.

Exhibition Design Internships
Interns will design a variety of materials for upcoming exhibitions. Qualifications must include design portfolio and knowledge of industry standard computer software.

Exhibition Content Development Internships
Interns will conceive ideas for new interactive exhibitions. Qualifications must include a background in education and/or the creative design process.
